Lanka Senior Secondary School was established on 6th January, 2002 in considering the present educational need at Lanka and its surrounding areas. This institution is shaped by some of Socio - Educated persons of Lanka. It always remains as private educational institute and contributes towards the progress of the society. The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council ( AHSEC ) has given recognition to the college vide Letter No. AHSEC / RPR / RRC/ 60 / 07 / 1894-1951 dt.19th July 2013.
The College has also got Registration from the Govt. of Assam vide letter No. PC/PR/38/08/76 dated 25th February 2010.The Registration number of the College is AS-2-JC-57.
The college building consists of adequate number of class rooms, science laboratory, Boys' & Girls’ common room. The college has with separate hygienic lavatories. A library with adequate textbooks, reference book, journals, magazines with proper seating arrangement. The college offers facilities for games and sports, cultural activities and all other related co-curricular activities.
